At this crucial time, I feel the duty to address all of you, who with your support and passion represent the beating heart of Catania Football Club. I write to you first of all as a fan and then as someone who two years ago took on the responsibility and honour of resurrecting our team. Even now I take responsibility for everything and I want to start by apologising for this situation that has caused concern among many of you. I also want to clarify and reassure you.
The Pelligra Group took action and prepared all the necessary documentation to guarantee the surety bond weeks ago and sent it to all the relevant bodies. The delay was caused solely by bureaucratic delays in the transfer between banks.
I have worked personally, together with the best professionals of the Pelligra Group and Catania Football Club, to resolve this issue. I also want to reiterate that the resources are available and that our interest in investing in Catania, to strengthen the team and achieve the goals we have set ourselves, is unchanged, as are our plans for the future and our enthusiasm; that between Pelligra and Catania is a long-term love story. Finally, I want to underline the importance of dialogue and transparency: if I have not spoken so far it is because I like to resolve issues before expressing myself, but I will organise a press conference at the beginning of September to talk about the new season and answer all the questions of the journalists who follow our team with attention and passion. We will work constantly and we will always do our utmost to succeed.
