Catania Under-19 deservedly earned qualification for the playoff final, which will determine the promotion to the Primavera 2 championship of one team from Group B of the third-tier youth competition. Against Potenza, after the 2-2 draw in the first leg, the return match also ended level, with the Rossazzurri advancing thanks to their better position in the regular-season standings. In first-half stoppage time, the Etna side took the lead through Nicola Viola, sent through on goal by Simone Sechi; in the closing stages of the second half, the Lucanian side equalised to make it 1-1, with Gabriele scoring from a tap-in after Lorenzo Coco had saved the penalty. The players coached by Marco Biagianti will begin work on Monday ahead of the two-legged tie against Latina: the first leg will be played on Saturday 9 May at Nesima; the final match of the season will take place on Saturday 16 at the Nerazzurri’s home ground.
